An object of mass 2 kg is dropped with no initial speed from a height of 5 m. Because of air friction, its speed at ground level is only 9 m/s instead of the 10 m/s expected without friction (take g = 10 m/s^2 and the ground as the reference for heights). What is, in joules, the mechanical energy lost due to friction?
